I came up with a bunch of Anime Conji mascot headcanons while I was in the shower

So now I’m posting them here, because it’s somewhat relevant.
 

We’re going to place this in a parallel universe that is infinitely more accepting than the real world.


Universal:

  • They all met in rural town called Conji, to participate in a fighting competition.
  •  They represent four of the five Godai (basically, the classical elements as explained in Japanense culture. Don’t quote me.) Saga-Earth, Kai-Water, Ami-Wind, Naota-Fire The missing element, Spirit/Void/what-have-you, will be represented by the enemy/rival character.
  •  They are all proficient with blades, but only Naota has true mastery over swordsmanship.   

Saga, the Wanderer
Date of Birth: May 17 

  • Nobody knows where she came from, or even if she’s of this world. She frequently displays non-human qualities
  • She has a paralyzing fear of bugs, but loves rats.
  • While she can handle herself with a short sword, Saga prefers hand to hand combat
  • She eats more than anyone else. Combined. Her sweet tooth has gotten her in trouble more than once.

Kai, the Guardian
Date of Birth: October 11 

  • Kai is not easily made angry, but when he does, it’s a horror to behold
  • He holds his liquor better than anyone else.
  • Kai is gay, and is affectionately referred to as the deadpan gay friend. This is a relative of the sassy gay friend, but with less sassy.  

Ami, the Seeress
Date of Birth: January 25 

  • Ami is Naota’s adopted sister, and the only member of the group with an exact age: fifteen. 
  • She was rescued by his family when they discovered her as a newborn. She had been exposed by her parents for being born under unlucky circumstances.
  • Ami does not like to fight, and instead serves as healer for Naota.
  • She possesses the ability to see into the immediate future, but she mainly uses the ability to plan treatment for Naota’s wounds.
  • She has many animal friends, and she loves flowers.

Naota, the Warrior
Date of Birth: July 8 

  • Naota is descendant of a she-demon and a human sire. As such, his strength is unparalleled.
  • Naota’s hair doesn’t actually have pigment of its own. It reflects the shade of the dominant environment. For example, In clear daylight, his hair is pale blonde. In moonlight, it’s silver.
  • He is known to be quite a cocky hothead, and popular with the ladies.
  • He is viciously protective of his adopted sister.
